Forest Skills

We work with Jo and Chris from Littlefoot HQ in order to develop a range of forest skills for pupils from Years 1 – 6.

Each class visits our newly designed outdoor classroom once a half term for half a day with the Littlefoot HQ team. All activities are carried out safely and are risk assessed. The children like to earn stamps in order to achieve a badge to show their competencies in 6 specific skill areas.

The children cover a range of skills based on:

  • Fire
  • Tools
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Nature ID
  • Rope Knots and Shelters
  • Map Work and Navigation

Not to mention the added benefits to our pupils’ mental health and wellbeing working outdoors. Also, lots of interpersonal skills come into play via the activities such as team work, resilience and leadership.
