Headteacher's Welcome

On behalf of our whole school community, I would like to welcome you to the website of St Stephen’s Catholic Primary School. We hope you enjoy exploring it and that it gives you a real sense of who we are and all the information you need.

The governors, staff and I are extremely proud of our school and our children. We are a one-form entry school, and our Mission Statement, ‘Love like Jesus. Learn like Jesus. Live like Jesus.’, is at the heart of everything we do. These three simple phrases shape the way we care for one another, the way we learn together and the way we prepare our children for the future.

Love like Jesus
At St Stephen’s, every child is known, valued and cared for as a unique child of God. We provide a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment where kindness, forgiveness and respect are lived out every day. We strive to build a positive partnership with all our parents and carers, founded on mutual trust and respect, because we know that children flourish when home and school work closely together.

Learn like Jesus
Jesus was a curious learner and a patient teacher, and we want our children to share that same love of learning. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum in a stimulating environment that nurtures every aspect of a child’s development: social, emotional, physical and creative, as well as academic. We aim to help every child discover their talents, grow in confidence and achieve their full potential during their time with us.

Live like Jesus
We want our children to take the gospel values they learn here out into the world, ready to play their part in modern Britain with compassion, integrity and a sense of service to others. As a school at the heart of our community, we enjoy wonderful links with our parish. Father John is fully involved in school life and works closely with our parish catechists to support our pupils through their sacramental preparation. Through our religious education curriculum, collective worship, Masses and feast days, our pupils develop a special relationship with God that visibly grows in love and understanding as they move through the school.
