At St Stephen’s, our Catholic life is at the heart of everything we do and is guided by our mission to “Love Like Jesus. Learn Like Jesus. Live Like Jesus.” Our pupils, staff, governors and parishioners all play a vital part in creating a welcoming, prayerful and faith-filled community where everyone is valued and encouraged to grow closer to God.

Through prayer and liturgy, the celebration of Mass and the sacraments, acts of service and charity, fundraising, opportunities for reflection, and working closely with our parish and wider community, we put our faith into action. Together, we strive to Love Like Jesus by showing kindness, compassion and forgiveness; Learn Like Jesus by growing in faith, wisdom and understanding; and Live Like Jesus by serving others and sharing the Good News through our words and actions. In this way, every member of our school and parish community has an important role in strengthening the Catholic life and distinctive mission of St Stephen’s.

In July 2026, our KS2 choir took part in a ‘Celebration of Hope’ at the Parr Hall, along with the 13 other Catholic Primary Schools in Warrington and what a celebration it was! Our children blew us away on the stage with their singing and performing skills. It truly was an evening of hope where we came together for such a worthy cause; to raise money for the Willow Tree Hub Appeal and to support Warrington and Halton Hospitals’ Charity in its 30th anniversary year.

Y6 reading at our Welcome Mass in church.

Our Mini Vinnies led the Harvest Assembly with Mr Hatton.

The generation Harvest donations that we received from our school community that were sent to Warrington Foodbank.

Our annual cake sale fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Every October, we show our support to promoting equality by 'Showing Racism the Red Card'.

In November, Y3 led our Remembrance Day tribute at our special reflection area with a cross made out of poppies using recycled plastic bottles

Y6 supported their Reception buddies by helping them decorate the Christmas trees in school.

KS1 pupils performed 'Born in a Barn' in a retelling of the Nativity story to their families, governors and parishioners.

KS2 performed a beautiful carol concert at church for their families, governors and parishioners.

Y4 attended the Advent Service at the Metropolitan Cathedral.

The children loved taking part in our annual Elf Run fundraiser in support of St Rocco's Hospice.

Our KS2 children have taken part in a special Ash Wednesday service today with Mr Hatton and Father John to mark the start of the season on Lent.

Well done to all of our children for completing the Big Lent Walk and raising over £600 for CAFOD.

The children looked amazing in their fancy dress costumes from which the donations went towards Nugent Care’s Good Shepherd Appeal as part of our Lenten Fundraisers.

Year 1 and Year 4 Palm Sunday Liturgy retelling the joyful start to Holy Week to our school community.

Y5 have spent the day at church as part of their retreat day with the Chaplaincy Team from Cardinal Newman.

Our Reception class led a beautiful ‘Stay and Pray’ Celebration of the Word for the special fatherly figures in their lives in our prayer garden.

Our school community came together for our Pilgrimage Prayer Stations. The children journeyed through six stations in their house teams.
