The Holy Father has decided that 2025 will be a year of Jubilee, something which happens every 25 years.
The theme is “Pilgrims of Hope”.
The Jubilee Year began with the opening of the Holy Door in St Peter’s Basilica in Rome, on Tuesday 24 December 2024 and runsto the Feast of Epiphany 2026. The Vatican will be hosting a series of events, details of which can be viewed by clicking the image above. Pope Francis has also written a special Jubilee prayer.

Launch Assembly
On Friday 10th January, Mr Hatton launched the Year of Prayer with a special assembly about Pilgrims of Hope. We learnt about the meaning behind the logo.
Mr Hatton also shared Pope Francis’ message and what we will be doing to join in with the Year of Prayer. We also Zoomed with other Catholic schools in Warrington who were also having their launch. We ended by singing Missio’s Pilgrim Calypso.
Bags of Hope
As part of our Pilgrims of Hope launch, we came together with other Catholic schools across Warrington and created ‘Bags of Hope’, linked to the Catholic Social Teaching principle – Option for the Poor. Our bags contained items such as warm clothing, toiletries and sleeping bags. We donated them to the ‘Room at the Inn’ charity and these bags will be distributed to those less fortunate than us.
