Here at St Stephen’s Catholic Primary School, we ensure that our welcome to our children is always honest, positive, warm and inclusive. We are committed to ensuring the best possible education for pupils regardless of ability, background, ethnicity, gender or disability. By offering a full, broad and balanced curriculum, alongside quality first teaching, it gives all children the opportunity to be drawn into their learning within an inclusive environment. Teachers, with the support of our Teaching Assistants, create a positive environment that allows learners to develop their confidence, independence and resilience when focusing on their learning.
Above all, each child is given the opportunity to ‘Love like Jesus, learn like Jesus and live like Jesus’.
Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENCO), Miss Bedworth, liaises with Teachers, Teaching Assistants, parents/carers and external agencies to provide additional support for children who require it. We continually monitor the progress of all pupils and take steps to intervene where there is evidence that individuals or groups are falling behind. If you wish to discuss concerns about your child’s progress or development, please speak to your child’s class teacher in the first instance.
